Co-Sponsor the Family Support Services Addiction Act
It is more important than ever to increase Advocacy and Influence for legislation as the Opioid crisis continues to escalate at an alarming rate during this Pandemic. New legislation that was formally introduced to Congress on 1/09/2020, identified as The Family Support Services Addiction Act will establish a grant program for community organizations that provide support and resources for families struggling with substance use disorder.
This bill directly addresses the gaps of support within addiction care that result in adverse events for both the family and the patient by addressing the importance of family empowerment and involvement as critical to successful long-term recovery results. This cannot be stressed enough as the Stigma of addiction and the shame endured by America’s families has been a barrier to family involvement and accessing quality treatment.
At Angels of Champions, we understand the important role of a family’s involvement while navigating addiction challenges. We understand the journey and the importance of empowering families to be effective for their loved ones.

We need you to URGE your members of Congress to Co-Sponsor the Family Support Services for addiction Act, H.R. 5572 in the House, and S. 3179 in the Senate. This bill is in the first phase of approval. To date, it has been read twice in the Senate and referred to the Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions.
