Inspiration for Everyday

but rarely admit the changes it has gone through

to achieve that beauty.”

From Fear to Faith: Lessons from the Butterfly

As we struggle to navigate a world that can feel unfamiliar and unpredictable, the arrival of spring brings with it the quiet comfort of something unchanged—the beauty of God’s creation and the miracles of nature that continue, even in uncertain seasons.

A few days ago, as I sat in the warm sunshine on a peaceful Sunday afternoon, my thoughts drifted back to a message I had read earlier that day. It was a simple reminder, yet profoundly timely:

“Let your faith be bigger than your fear.”

As I paused, took a long, slow breath, and reflected on those words, the first butterfly of the season fluttered before me. In that moment, it felt like a breathtaking illustration of the transformative power of faith over fear.

The lessons of the butterfly are deep and worth studying. Like the butterfly, we must trust our Creator during seasons of struggle, allowing faith to grow so that transformation can take place. Only then can we emerge prepared to fulfill the unique purpose placed on our lives.

It has been said, “The butterfly teaches us that it is not possible to go from egg to butterfly without the stages in between. And in our lives, we cannot go from birth to death without the journey. So, like the caterpillar, we must do the work.”

As I began my own journey forming the nonprofit organization Angels of Champions after the death of my son, God placed the miracle of a blue butterfly directly in my path—not once, but multiple times. Each appearance defied reasonable explanation, appearing in places and moments that felt purposeful and undeniable.

Unable to ignore the message of those encounters, I made a pivotal shift in our organization’s branding and vision. That shift ultimately inspired the structure of our programs, creating a “stepping-stone” process of transformation designed to guide our Champions and their families as they navigate the challenges of sustained recovery.

Through reflection, it became clear that Angels of Champions itself had undergone a metamorphosis—growing, evolving, and transforming to fulfill its mission. As we admire the intricate beauty of the butterfly, we rarely consider the difficult and essential work required at each stage of transformation.

Today, as each of us faces the uncertainty of tomorrow, I invite you to take your first step toward transformation. There has never been a better time to begin discovering the potential within you.

When will it be your time to flutter and soar?

Before you take that step, pause with me—just for a moment—and breathe.

Warmly,

Carolyn
