Inspiration for Everyday

“We delight in the beauty of the butterfly,

but rarely admit the changes it has gone through

to achieve that beauty.”

Bio-hacking your FEAR during UNCERTAIN TIMES

As we all struggle to navigate a world that is uniquely foreign to us in the midst of a global pandemic, the arrival of spring brings with it the comfort of the familiar beauty of God’s creation, and the miracles of nature.

As I sat a few days ago, taking in the warm sunshine on a beautiful Sunday afternoon, my thoughts wandered to a Facebook post I had read earlier in the day that was a poignant reminder of this unprecedented time we are living in. As I took a long slow deep breath… enjoying the beauty of where I am privileged to live and reflected on the message of that post, “Let your Faith be bigger than your Fear,” the first butterfly of the season fluttered before me, a breathtaking example I thought of the transformative power of Faith over Fear.

The lessons of a Butterfly are deep and profound and should be studied by every one of us as we journey through life. Like a butterfly, we must trust our creator in order to grow our Faith during difficult times so we can emerge transformed to fulfill the destiny of our life purpose.

It has been said, “The butterfly teaches us that it is not possible to go from egg to butterfly without the stages in-between. And in our lives, we cannot go from birth to death without the journey. So, like the caterpillar, we must do the work.”

As I began my own journey forming the non-profit organization Angels of Champions after the death of my son, I believe God placed the miracle of a Blue Butterfly directly in my path, not once, but multiple times, each time defying a reasonable explanation as to the position of its existence. Unable to ignore the clear message of these encounters, I shifted the direction of our marketing and graphics which ultimately provided the inspiration for the content of the journey and mission that lie ahead for our organization. This organizational pivot provided the foundational framework of our program structure that effectively provides a “steppingstone” process of transformation for our Champions and their families to follow while navigating the challenges of sustained recovery.

As I reflected upon my own journey it became clear to me that we too, as a non-profit organization, had experienced a metamorphosis of transformation in order to fulfill our purpose and mission. It is true that as we all admire the intricate beauty of the butterfly, rarely do we think about the hard work of each transformative step that is essential to emerge stunningly beautiful and with a clear unique purpose.

Today as each of us faces the unknown of tomorrow, I encourage you to join with us and take your first step toward transformation…there will never be a better time to begin the process of realizing the potential inside of you. When will it be YOUR time to flutter and soar? I invite you to begin your own beautiful journey…to take that first step. But first, let’s take a moment during this stressful time for us all to … just breathe!

Warmly,

Carolyn
